YesPooNoPoo is under new management!!!

My brother Santo Steele, who has been helping me with this project since last year, will be taking over as I go to college. I had a blast meeting all my neighbors and I want to thank all of you for helping me and Santo donate more than $2000 to our favorite causes. Check out our last blog post where Santo introduces himself.

Thank you for helping us do good, in and beyond our neighborhood!

YesPooNoPoo at a Glance

No More Neighborhood Quarrels Over Doggie Doo

YesPooNoPoo (est. 2020) is the initiative of Jaïm Steele. This year I am handing the reigns to my brother, Santo, a rising sophomore at Design and Architecture Senior High (DASH).

Having noticed the discord between my neighborhood's homeowners on public neighborhood forums on whether or not dog poo should be allowed in their trash cans, I came up with a simple solution to the conflict.

Some people don't mind if dog walkers use their trash can to deposit their sealed poop bags, while others really don't want them to. Show where you stand by sticking a "YES POO" or "NO POO" sticker on your garbage can. Santo will deliver the sticker of your choice to your home for a minimum $5 donation. All proceeds will go to one of three charities which are close to our heart, you choose which one!

Doing Good Beyond the Neighborhood

Your $5 donation (more is welcome!) will get you a garbage can sticker and all proceeds will benefit one of three charities that are dear to my heart. When ordering your sticker, please indicate one of the following organizations to receive the proceeds of your donation:

MIAMI WATERKEEPER

Jaïm and I (Santo) both served as Miami Waterkeeper's Junior Ambassadors and we are committed to helping this organization in their quest to ensure swimmable, drinkable, and fishable water for all. If you want this organization to receive the proceeds of your sticker purchase, you will help Miami Waterkeeper in their mission to defend, protect, and preserve South Florida’s watershed through citizen engagement and community action rooted in sound science and research.

PROJECT HIU

‘Project Hiu’, Hiu being the Indonesian word for Shark, is an initiative to provide alternative incomes to fishermen in one of the largest shark fisheries in Indonesia. If you choose this organization to benefit from your sticker purchase, you help to educate and retrain Indonesian shark fishermen in what is one of the world's least sustainable fisheries.

HUMANE SOCIETY OF GREATER MIAMI

No dog-poop-based initiative should forget about our furry friends!

If you select this charity to benefit from your YES POO/NO POO sticker, you help them care for more than 400 dogs, cats, puppies and kittens every day in their euthanasia-free adoption center and two veterinary clinics.  They also offer programs and services to educate, inform and inspire people to take responsible care of their pets and treat animals with the kindness they deserve.

Through the links below you can learn more about these fantastic organizations. You are free to donate to them directly but you will only receive your garbage can sticker if you make a minimum $5 donation through me. To order your sticker please scroll down to the bottom of the page.
